Blazon:
While the origin of the design is unknown, here is what some of the symbology might mean:
- Field (Shield): The shield is azure (blue), representing loyalty and the maritime environment, a common color in naval insignias.
- Primary Charge: In the center is a golden sheaf of wheat in the shape of a trident, symbolizing prosperity, unity, and, perhaps, the local agricultural heritage.
The wheat is stylized to resemble a naval trident, evoking strength, discipline, and naval tradition.
- Water (Waves): Below the wheat symbol is a depiction of three argent (silver or white) waves, symbolizing the sea and the maritime service of the Cadets.
- Outer Border (Ornament): The shield is encircled by a golden rope border, which is a classic naval symbol representing strength, unity, and readiness.
- Base: At the base of the shield is a red maple leaf, representing Canada, emphasizing national pride and the connection to the Navy League of Canada.
- Crest: At the top of the badge is a naval crown in gold (or), signifying the connection to naval service. The crown has sails, which allude to traditional sailing ships.
- Nameplate: Below the naval crown is the nameplate bearing the unit's name "M.J. MILLER" in black letters on a golden field (or), identifying the Corps.
