An Annual Ceremonial Review is a formal event held by Cadet organizations to showcase the achievements and progress of the Cadets over the course of a Training Year.
It is typically conducted by organizations such as the Navy League of Canada Cadet Corps as well as Army Cadet Corps, Air Cadet Squadron, Sea Cadet Corps, or other similar youth development programs.
During a Cadet ACR, Cadets participate in various Ceremonies, Drills, Parades, and Demonstrations to demonstrate their skills, discipline, and teamwork. The event usually involves a comprehensive review of the Cadets' training and activities, including Inspections, Presentations, and Awards.
The ACR is often held in the presence of senior military officers, dignitaries, parents, and the general public. It serves as an opportunity for the Cadets to display their accomplishments, receive recognition for their hard work, and showcase their potential for future leadership roles.
The event typically includes the following elements:
- Marching and Drill: Cadets showcase their precision and discipline in marching formations and drill routines.
- Ceremonial Guard Mounting: A guard composed of cadets is mounted, and the changing of the guard is demonstrated.
- Reviewing Officer's Address: A distinguished guest, often a senior military officer, delivers an address highlighting the achievements and importance of the cadet program.
- Awards and Presentations: Cadets who have excelled in various areas, such as leadership, academics, sports, or community service, may be recognized and presented with awards.
- Band and Musical Performances: Cadet bands and musical groups often perform during the ACR, showcasing their musical talents.
- Demonstration Displays: Cadets may demonstrate skills such as first aid, navigation, marksmanship, or other aspects of their training.
